      A logline is a summary of the plot.? And a plot faces forward in time, not backwards.? A plot is about where a character wants to go in the future, not where she’s been in the past.

      Flashbacks may serve a purpose in the script to explain how the character came to be washed up,. But the logline should be framed in terms of and focus on her future goal, her struggle for a comeback.

      Just curious, who does she recount her story too?

      Is it an AA meeting?

      Also, does the lead have a goal that causes her to recite the story? (So at the end of the script there is something that is resolved from the lead telling the story?)

      Anyway, I was only asking because for a story like this I doubt you will have a traditional logline, but the logline is short enough if there is an important element to the story that is missing from the logline, then it wouldn’t hurt to add a few more words.

      I quite like this idea. I would maybe adjust it slightly to fit a more conventional logline format. I also think that if she’s a a movie queen who has risen to the top already, why does she need a comeback? Here’s my take:

      When she’s offered a starring role in a Hollywood blockbuster, a fallen-from-grace former teen icon recounts her rise to the top as she battles her secret alcoholism in order to claw her way back on the A-list.

      I think there’s a lot of potential to show three different stories concurrently – her rise, her fall, and her resurrection. In my head, showing these three intercut together could make for a fascinating drama about the nature of fame.

      I wonder whether it needs more of a hook though?
