Dumped by her wealthy boyfriend, a selfish gold-digger retreats to her hometown and sets her sights on a local bachelor…who happens to be rich…and engaged to be married.

My first attempt at comedy. Would appreciate all comments.

I can see great potential for this comedy. What goes wrong when this gold digger tries to reel in the local bachelor? You should drop a hint of what her conflict is going to be so potential viewers/readers become invested in this comedy.

I’m interested. Is being a gold-digger her only flaw? Just curious.

I think this sounds very interesting, and has a lot of potential although the first comparison that pops into my head is ‘Young Adult’. I’m definitely wondering what she will do to get her way and what type of comedy you’ll be employing.

Does she get what she wants or does she get what she deserves in the end?

Thanks to everyone who weighed in.

So far, I’m envisioning the tone as a combination of Young Adult and small-town Sweet Home Alabama-ish. The protag’s conflict is two-fold – reconnect with her sister (with whom she’s forced to move in and has long buried animosity) and tussle with her nemesis – the rich guy’s fiancee. And hilarity ensues… I hope.
