I like the idea, but agree with most of the comments above that you need to be more specific. I think that you should focus on how he can overcome his limitations. Is there an event, is there something he wants, something he achieves etc. that will show us that he has overcome his limitations?

It would greatly increase the challenge ahead of him if he were forced into the situation of “normal life survival”.

The logline is rather vague as it lacks a clear goal, best to re think this concept with an objective outer goal in mind. This doesn’t have to be an item of great value per say rather something that fits with in the genre and subject matter. For example he could want to get a job or girlfriend etc… I think he needs something to drive him except for just prove to himself that he is “normal”.

And why after all these years of being semi-institutionalized is he forced out on his own??? What’s the specific reason?

Initially,?is ?living independently his long cherished dream?? Or is it a?fate that is forced on him?? He has no choice but?to swim or sink in the outside world — survive or die?

      Hello,
I still find it too vague –

This vaguely make me think of Bad Boy Bubby?http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106341/

I like it, but you either need to specify his impulse controls, or his version of a normal life – or both.
