S-Con is a quirky gaming convention where players exchange in-game goods, and young con-artist Bryon Spells is ready to rob it blind. But when the highest ranking player is revealed to be his estranged father, Bryon must mend the broken relationship, or risk the entire heist.

dpg makes a good point, why do we want the lead to succeed?

Why should I want the con artist to succeed in robbing innocent people? ? Why should I not want the father to defeat the son, foil his plan?

In whom is audience supposed to emotionally invest in, to root for?

Agreed with Richiev. Also, no need for names, unless it’s a character from history or a pre existing IP.

Is the story going to take place in the VR world of the game or in real life during the gaming convention?

It seems as if your inciting incident is the part about his father.

“When he discovers his mark is actually his estranged father, a con-artist must pretend to patch up the relationship if he’s to get the password to the convention safe and the millions within.”
