You can’t give too much info away. You just can’t. It is impossible. Because you and I could start with the same logline and within a day our stories would be completely different.

You need to tell the story through someone’s eyes. Which is the protagonist comment.

US Govt and NASA is doubling up.

The loglines current state is controversial, where’s the marketability of – the U.S. government relocating non-whites to a concentration camp on the moon? As a reader, based on your feedback to other members, I’m leery of you divulging more information to FIX this.

Mike….It’s just a movie! If, it even gets made. I’m just putting out feelers to see if it catches interest. It’s still in the development stage.

      Who is the lead character?
      What do they want?
What is standing in their way?

If God is the lead character, that would be the ‘hook’ of the story and should be added to the logline.

Unless it’s a ‘big reveal’ at the end of the story, which you would not add it to the movie.

In other words, when do we find out ‘God’ is the lead character, at the beginning of the story? Or at the end of the story? That will determine whether you add it to the logline.

Hook: It’s the selling point and must be added to the logline
Big Reveal: Never spoil, let whoever reads your script be surprised

Why? And more importantly, why do we care? The plot by the government could be to protect everyone of colour from a gang of racist aliens… Without a protagonist though, we’re watching the news, not a movie.

A logline’s purpose isn’t to entice people in with vague ideas, it’s to give a clear and concise summary of the plot up to either the midpoint or end of Act II in as fewer words as possible. My point is that without a protagonist you have no plot. Therefore, this despite you saying “it’s just a movie”, you haven’t actually given us a movie.

I’m not against the premise at all, but the questions I asked were not meant in a derogatory sense. These are questions people expect to be answered in a logline. See Richiev’s comments about the Hook vs the Reveal. If God is the protagonist, we need to know that. I’m not sure it can be a film with God as the lead character and NOT be a religious film… thematically – if God exists, you’re making a statement about religion. You might not intend it to be a religious film but it will be.

If God is the main character, what is his goal?
