To validate her self-worth, a cunning catfisher help victims reclaim their digital lives by revealing the truth and exposing the perpetrators.

Still thinking about the concept. A person switching sides to help the vulnerable. What do you think?

The premise is interesting but it makes me wonder ‘Why now?’ Why does her self worth bothers her now when she’s been one of them? What does she gain by exposing the perpetrators?

Instead of ‘victims’ maybe there’s someone in particular she intends to save; a personal incentive would be better than validating her self worth as the inciting incident.

I’ll keep those questions in mind and go from there. Thanks for the feedback.

      I agree with variable,
“To validate her self worth…” isn’t very compelling, nor does it answer the ‘why now’ question.

If your character is going to change her entire life, then the reason she changes her entire life should be just as big and compelling.

In fact, I would just drop the line altogether
      —–
1: “A reformed catfisher uses her skills to help victims get justice by exposing the perpetrators.”
2: Then add what happened to the lead that caused her change of heart, going from someone who exploited people to someone who now helps people.

That’s the word I was looking yesterday “reformed”!

Gives me a “Catch Me If You Can / My Name Is Earl” mashup vibe.
I had to re-read the logline to determine your intent of a “catfisher” since this term has many connotations now. Also, isn’t catfishing or a catfisher a type of perpetrator?
Variable had a good point about the “Now” question. What if your master identity thief 😊 narrowly escapes a relentless FBI agent and NOW is on-the-run undoing her “stolen identity list” before getting captured?

      Take care.
