Hi Zelozelos!
Let me state first: I’m not a logline expert!:-) But I’ll try to pass on the things I do know about loglines.
From what I understand about ‘ logline rules ‘ you never use the character names. In this case, the president of the US is sufficient. Even better if you add an adjective that arouses interest in the character. For instance; the Incapable president of the US must….
Also, it’s good to define your core concept when you start crafting your logline. Is this about a man whose marriage is about to end because he can’s deal with the loss of his son? Or because he puts the country first? What I get from the synopsis now are 2 different stories. Try to connect the 2! The mother who’s into a weird guru and the dying son immediately draws my attention. You’ve got something there. Find the conflict between the president and his wife and you’ll have an interesting story!
I hope this was helpful. Good luck with your writing.
Warm Regards
