Agreed with Richiev and DPG, reflecting on its own is not an action fit for a film, the MC needs to pursue a specific outer goal.
Could the grandmother want to break with tradition and fight for survival on her own?
As Richiev said. ?What’s the plot that arises from this situation? ?Not just a string of pearls, a series of random recollections in the form of flashbacks, but a causally concatenated sequence of events with rising tension that builds to a crisis, climax and resolution.
This would be the set-up. The story would be the compelling flashbacks. What story are you trying to tell with the flashbacks?
