Save her business from what? Does it fall apart literally or figuratively? And if e businessmen are disappearing why does she need to figt them? There is a lot going on in this logline, try to pick the stories main through line and avoid b-story or subplots. Who is your protagonist? What does she want? What is stopping her? Three things is all you need.
Fight against is vague. Try to give goal-action-outcome.
A woman must ….. to save her families failing railroad, all the while hampered by her incompetent brother and increasing regulation.

Interesting selection, Richiev, and a challenging one to write a coherent logline for. ?The movie ?– actually a 3-part series — was adapted from Ayn Rand’s mammoth — ?some would say monstrous — 1957 novel, wherein her characters ?function as ideological puppets for her philosophy of objectivism. ?Here’s my take:
When her family railroad suffers a series of accidents and the mysterious disappearance of key personnel, a driven woman must battle her incompetent brother and an oppressive government to save the family business from bankruptcy.

I haven’t seen this film, and while it sounds interesting it’s hard to gauge?the story from reading the logline mostly because it doesn’t detail what the main action is.
The main character is clear and her goal is clear, but what does she actually do to achieve it?
What does “…battle her brother?” mean in practical terms? Does she try to buy her brother’s shares in the company? Does she find investors on her own accord? Does she use political or social pressure to convince him to agree with her suggestions?
Same with the oppressive government? Does she grease a few political wheels? Does she blackmail a politician – unlikely from what the logline is describing, but it’s an example of an action she could take.
Lastly it would be great to know her flaw. Does she have a character flaw? If so what is it?
It’s a complicated, sprawling narrative. ?The book is almost 1,200 pages long. ?(I tried to read it once, but decided that the book was too long and life was too short.)
The 3-part movie adaptation fills 5 hours of screen time; I don’t think it’s possible to get more specific in the logline — not in less than 40 words. ?Heck, not in less than a 100 words.
The story sells itself (or not, depending on one’s ?pov) on the basis of the reputation of its author, Ayn Rand. ?The movie was financed and produced by zealots of her philosophy.
I watched the first two films… haven’t seen the third installment, I have read the book (a long time ago) and found the audio book (on audible) on sale for 5 bucks, which inspired the logline attempt. Ultimately dpg’s logline attempt was about as good as you can get for such a large sprawling story.
