      >>> depression-induced psychosis

      Hmm.? The standard clinical symptom of psychosis is a loss of contact with reality.? Which might induce someone to think he can be a superhero.? But it would also render him unable to deal with the real world,? hence, unable to accurately observe and process clues? to solve the mystery of his friend’s disappearance.? Or do much of anything else to function and survive in the real world.

      So is this the story of a teenager who thinks he can become a superhero and solve the mystery — but he’s deluded; he can’t do either because of the nature of his mental disorder?? Or is this an origin story for a new superhero?? And if the latter, then the story belongs in the superhero genre.? And if the latter what are the latent powers that he will develop that makes him different from all the other superheros?? What is his special gift?

      A regular guy who dresses up like a superhero, I have seen that movie before… Blank Man, Hero at large, Super, Kick Ass, Jimmy Hollywood

      That doesn’t mean you can’t write it, and it definitely doesn’t mean it won’t sell.

      However, when I think of a superhero I think of a crime fighter,

      But when I think of an investigator, I think of a detective.

      Instead of having your delusional lead character dress up like a superhero, why not have him dress up like the character, “Sam Spade.”

      The lead character loves classic movies.

      His only friend goes missing.

      He has a nervous breakdown

      and suddenly believes he is the famous detective Sam Spade.

      He dresses like Sam Spade

      He uses 40’s Jargon

      He follows the clues in order to find his missing friend

      Just a thought.

      ?

      What and how?

      What? unique ability or latent power does he have?? A power that differentiates him from all the other superheroes the litter the cinema landscape?? And how does he acquire and develop it?
