I believe a lot of the elements of the story are there, you simply take too long to get there.

“When they are trapped by an evil spirit, an estate appraiser and her team have just one night to discover the poltergeist’s secret or die.”

      Agreed with the above comments.

This is a classic monster in the house – a pretty straightforward genre. Perhaps research the many predecessors to find an original spin to put on it. Just a crazy thought, but could the whole thing be a ruse by aliens to create an experiment on humans?

As foxtrot25 said. ?Given the situation, what becomes the objective goal? ?And what is at stake?

And who is the main character, the protagonist in the group?

Sounds like a different angle, but what must the appraisers do by the end of the story and what are the consequences if they don’t?
