I think you've described an interesting event, but haven't indicated a compelling action which the bulk of your screenplay will revolve around. (Determining to do something is not the same as doing that thing). Is his goal to get her fired from her job so she has to return to Earth, or is it to travel into space to meet her? It's important to provide this a) because it will determine whether it sounds like there is enough conflict to sustain a feature length film, and b) because if you're pitching the film using the logline, specificity with the compelling action the protagonist takes allows whoever you're pitching to to get a clearer idea of scope and budget necessary to produce your screenplay.

"After falling in love on a holo-date, a down-on his-luck Journalist vows to meet the woman of his dreams in person, the only problem... she's out of this world."
