Unidiversitarian?
I am still a little confused, because if his family was murdered how is his daughter still alive. However, I do think I get the gist of the story, how about this.

"When his daughter is kidnapped, a detective is given one week to prove the innocence of a convicted killer if he wants his daughter back alive."
I would start the longline with the character, so 'When a (adjective) private detective...' etc as it makes him seem more active in the story. I wasn't sure from the longline if he'd aided a conviction for the murders, then realised the conviction was false?
Who is giving the 'undisputed' detective one week? Who is the antagonist? (Or if the antagonist is 'big reveal' at the end of the movie, how does the detected find out he only has one week, does he receive a note? A finger? A video?)
