I have yet to get to the bottom of the plot. (And I've read the published script.) I dunno, but it seems to me there's some slight of writing/directorial hand going on in the last act.

Be that as it may, I'm impressed how in Act 1, Christopher Nolan efficiently and effectively sets up and links both the protagonist's professional goal (inception) and his personal need (get home to his kids).
