Thanks for the reply, I do think I need to narrow it down to one character in the logline even if it about several characters.
This is a really interesting idea. The problem - potentially - is that it will sound like a movie about things *not* happening. Which, I guess, is why no one's ever tried it before. I think you need to give the logline a) a definite lead character and b) a goal s/he's chasing.
I'm not saying this is the right logline, but it needs to have the *shape* of -
"When the world fails to end as advertised, a (character) must/ decides to (achieve a specific goal) to atone for the things he did when he thought it no longer mattered". Or whatever.
I can see what you are trying to do with it and is a very interesting take on an overdone end of world epic. one that is very good and quite grounded is 'Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World' which is a really good film. I think with the log line you should look at the central heart of the film and use that mainly with the end of the world being the backdrop. Really it sounds like a story about the priest and others' regrets. In the log line I would maybe put the comet at the end so people don't think it is just another end of world movie. I think Lucius has raised some really good points.
