Okay.
To my mind, the novelty of the story — the hook — isn’t the invasion. It’s the unnatural relationship between humans and vampires forged out of necessity.
And if played correctly, I can see the makings of a franchise. Based upon what I read in the trades, stories of this genre are more marketable if they have franchise potential. The Twilight franchise was built upon a love relationship between a vampire and a human. Why can’t your story be the beginning of a beautiful friendship between a vampire and a human? An odd couple who time and again, despite their differences, must partner up to “save the world” from zombies… aliens… witches.. demons — the potential enemy list for franchise episodes is unlimited!
And I don’t see why the MC can’t be a vampire. Vampires are potentially more interesting than humans — they intrinsically have more internal and external conflicts to deal with, do they not? And vampires were once human, too.
Anyway, the invasion, per se, doesn’t hook my interest. But the potential for a beautiful franchise friendship? I hope you give it some serious development.

As for the character flaw: ruthless doesn’t really strike me as on point to your setup; that is to say, a weakness that is congruent, a good fit to the situation, one that will create all kinds of complications with the unnatural alliance. Indeed, ruthlessness may be an asset, a character strength the vampire will need to prevail.
It seems to me that a go-to candidate fro the character flaw would be the vampires’ blood lust, their insatiable hunger for homo sapien hemoglobin. Their overwhelming temptation to tap carotid arteries continually threatens to undermine their alliance with humans, jeopardize their own survival.
Can’t think of how to compress that into a concise logline, yet. But fwiw.
