When a ruthless assassin infects his consciousness, an ex-marine must…
That seems to be substance of the inciting incident. But I’m not sure what he must do after that.
“Confronting his tragic past” would be seem to be his subjective need, what he will need to ultimately resolve in order to achieve his objective goal. (His subjective need looks backward, but an objective goal looks forward.)
But in the here and now, he has a more urgent need than whatever is in his past: he must confront and overcome the infectious assassin.
What’s the assassin motive and plan? Why has he infected the ex-marine? This particular ex-marine?
What must the ex-marine do about it? What are the stakes: what if the ex-marine fails?
Is there a ticking clock?
