When a prominent black surgeon in New York does a DNA test to find his family he finds out that he is from a small community of great hunters in ‘Arnhem Land. His life is thrust into chaos when he must cast off the silken symbols of civilization, to become the man, the hunter, the person he has been yearning for his entire life.

An interesting concept. Since you ID him as a Black American,? I presume you have good explanation why he doesn’t become a paleo-hunter in? Africa instead.
While having the protagonist as a surgeon may come in handy in the script. for a stituation where he must treat an injury in the Outback (without modern technology), I don’t deem it necessary for the logline.? In the logline, I suggest that the more important dramatic dynamic to emphasize is the contrast between the comfort and security of? his current lifestyle and discomforts and insecurity of a primitive lifestyle,

You raise an important point.? I’ve heard stories to that effect.? But here’s the catch.? They buy the script for the hook — but they don’t like the execution.? So they pay someone else to do a rewrite.? Which means that you, the original writer, lose total control of your script, get paid less, and have to share credit.
