    Thanks dpg, learning a lot with your comments. Your revision makes sense regarding protagonist’s original, intentional/objective goal. One thing that crossed my mind is that he must win their acceptance to survive, might be inaccurate story-wise (The might feel his life is in danger,.. but is he really?). However for the purpose of the logline, it entices the interest quite enough and doesn’t give much of the plot/the twist etc..

    Hmmm this one is become trickier than I thought originally…

    When a stubborn Father block the church entrance, a simple devout have to make sense of the ensuing confusion with press, church and population if he is to fulfill his vow.

    And it is not looking good yet… There is quite a few elements that is left out of the logline (and probably should) such as the cultural context of Brazil at the time. For instance, the rivalry between Catholic Church and african religions. One of the reasons the Father gets so pissed off is that his understanding that he made a vow to a pagan saint, not Saint Barbara, and so on..
