Also, there isn't much cause and effect between all the elements. Having been accepted into the gene program doesn't directly mean he has to become a quarterback and win the Superbowl.

I think this is interesting, however, what is standing in the way of the lead character succeeding? Where is the conflict?

It feels like a modern Cinderella story, you could even throw in a ticking clock that the procedure is failing during the playoffs.

My thinking was eSports are growing these days and are becoming massive and gamers (pro gamers) have fans like many sports stars.
