Write one properly, in development, and it forces you to name the character, the event that starts the story, and what they’re chasing, before you’ve spent a year drafting scenes that don’t hold together. Pitching is only the last job a logline does. The structural work happens earlier, and matters more.

The site has been free since it launched in 2012, and stays free. No paywall on feedback, no premium tier for a second opinion.
Above all, the approach here is pragmatic. The formula, the tips, the Logline Doctor: none of it is theory for its own sake. Every bit of guidance on this site is tested against what actually gets a script read, a pitch heard, and a writer taken seriously in the room. If advice doesn’t hold up in the real world, it doesn’t belong here.
