I'm no expert on the matter but I will say that it's not the boxing ring rather what motivates the boxer to enter it that will sell the script. In other words, develop the story around the boxer character but don't let the boxing alone be his goal.

As others have said, the story line seems too similar to other boxing movies.? It needs a fresh angle, a novel twist that clearly makes it stand out as unique rather than merely a knock off of previous boxing movies.
