Instead, it should happen quickly, and as a big reveal.

The very trap that was supposed to “get” the husband is expertly turned around on the vengeful wife when it’s revealed Her Paramour and Her husband are lovers.

(Or the other way around. The husband convincing his lover to kill his wife only to be double-crossed by the lover and his wife at the end)

    • How did he discover he has a son? ? Is the peril because the ex-partner has discovered he has a son?
    • Why is he exiled?
    • Is he saving the son or the abandoned family (or both)? ?If he abandoned the family previously, why is he bothered about them – or has the son given him a new viewpoint?

And “Boy Erased” confronts the son with a more specific and interesting dramatic problem: the father sends him to a conversion camp.?

And “Boy Erased” is also based on real people, real events.
