Very close, she wants to be the arrogant New Yorker. She is currently a nobody Texan. She is willing to sell people out to get to her own goal. But along the way grows and finds a different meaning to her life. Nothing worth mentioning in the logline.
I’ll draft up something with the feedback.

Quick change: the ‘is seeking’ was wrong, had to change it to ‘seeks’ 🙂
Looking to make a name for herself, an arrogant New York lawyers takes the case of a nationally reviled serial killer who, after suffering from amnesia, seeks a stay of execution.?

Clemency is granted in some States in the USA for people that have found god or have done good works while in gaol.
The protagonist is the female character wanting to make a name for herself. A bit like a war movie rarely being about the war.
The criminal is so hated only a lobby group is working for him. They have nearly no resources, this is why they call on her. She is willing to help thinking it may raise her profile.
I rewrote the log a few comment up the chain.
A young female psychiatrist keen make a name for herself takes a Pro Bono job working with a death row inmate with amnesia to save his life and build her career.?
I need to shift the focus to her to get the story across.

Here’s the plot summary for the “Tabula Rosa” episode of Criminal Minds: “After a suspected serial killer wakes up from a coma, the BAU reopens the case but are surprised to learn that he has amnesia and doesn’t remember the murders he had committed four years earlier in Roanoke, Virginia. The team now must find a way to recover his memories so they can try him for his crimes.”
A different concept than this logline as the objective goal in “Tabula Rosa” is to have the evidence to convict him, not commute or exculpate him. So my question remains: is the objective goal in this logline legally plausible?

I think it may be grounds for clemency. But this guy was horrible prior to the bashing. Gentle person now.

She is self absorbed but grows to care for people.

This premise was explored in an episode of Criminal Minds called “Tabula Rosa” (Season 3, Ep. 19).

He knew at the time of his conviction. Good enough for a judge and jury. As to whether your scenario is a plausible legal justification to get him off death row, I dunno. Have you researched the actual legal ramifications of your premise to see whether the convict would have a case and you a credible plot?

I am thinking of moving the DR to the front of the logline since they are the focus.

The convict is in no way an innocent man. But he has no memory of self or his past. The question is, can you kill someone for something they don’t know happened?

After a death row inmate suffers amnesia from a brutal beating, his lawyer is left with nothing but clues in his diary to prove his innocence before his execution date.
