Hi,
Only real suggestion here would be to obtain the right to adapt this story but otherwise sounds interesting. If you did in fact have the right you wouldn’t need to reference so in the logline, making it a cleaner read and allowing you room to further elaborate on the story.
Good luck
Why mention the book source or author at this point? It only gives a director or producer a reason not to read the script or to approach it with a negative frame of mind for the reason Wilsondowndunder cited.
The purpose of a logline is not to give a producer or director a reason to reject the script. but to give them reasons to read it. So get them interested in the concept, make them fall in love with the script.
[That it’s an adaptation is a separate issue. One a screenwriter would do well to obviate by obtaining adaptation rights beforehand, if possible The cue for the supporting cast of lawyers and literary agents to enter stage right…]
Ignoring the first sentence …
An unassuming man … is about the LEAST interesting protagonist I think one could choose. Even if that’s part of the irony; that he’s quiet and pulls off an insane heist, there’s got to be a better way to describe him that would catch my interest.
What are the stakes? Why does he want to pull off the robbery?
I agree with the above.
