To me it sounds like this story is about a complicated relationship of the radio producer and his ex. Maybe you don’t need to tell so much about the exact circumstances?
When a radio producer on the edge of loosing his job gets dependent on his ball-busting ex-wifes hi-jacked radio appearance, he has to do anything to keep her under control, despite her unforgiving hate.
(im not english so i suck at this, but you get the picture)
Thanks Nicholas, I was worried that would be the case.

The radio station has an advice show.
The ex-wife comes to the station to yell at her ex for missing their sons soccer game.
The host of the show’s an alcoholic and passes out while on air.
The ex-jumps on the mike and saves the day by giving crazy, ‘in your face’ advice.
Suddenly the rating skyrocket.
But the two don’t get along so if the producer wants the ratings to continue he has to find a way to bury the hatchet with his ex even though they hate each other.
The alternative is the radio station goes out of business and everyone loses their jobs.
Now, exactly how I say all that in one sentence led me to the first attempt.
I wasn’t sure how much of that would get across but I think you were right on point with your advice, thanks.
The events of this logline are confusing in so far as I’m not entirely certain how they all fit together.
The advice she publishes, or says on another program, or somehow makes public – this advice has to do directly with the protagonist, correct? What sort of advice is damning enough to not just character assassinate him, but to blowback hard enough to destroy the show he produces and put the station in danger?
Are the stakes only so high as the ratings dropping on his radio program? Could they be more compelling?
What form does the action of “mending fences” take?
