Why would the inciting incident by his kid graduating? ?Wouldn't it be the diagnosis of cancer? ?That diagnosis -- not the graduation-- suddenly makes it urgent for him to ?track down his ex-flame. ?He can't wait --he must act. ?Carpe diem.
