Hmm. What about binding him to the land with the yoke of responsibility and the tether of heritage? That is, his folks are getting on in years, becoming more dependent on him to do the hard labor needed to keep the farm going? And it's been in the family for 4 generations, ever since they immigrated to Australia from Ireland; he's either the only son or the only one with the smarts to run the farm, keep the land in the family. He can't just abandon his family and heritage to follow a whimsical dream?

Robbie fears failure of leaving a small town, He has a secret passion for photography, which plays a big role later on in the film. but he covers the fear up with excuses such as, "You have to be really good to make money with photography" "I have to stay here and provide for Mum and Dad" "the rest of the town will think I'm stupid or soft"

Caprice I'm still ironing out the reason why. She just doesn't see herself settling down any time soon. I'm thinking that its because she isn't sure what she wants as an end goal.

In "The Croods" the father is incapable of change. His motto is 'stay in the cave'; as a result, the daughter is the lead character.

Is his inability to change an external symptom of a more fundamental internal problem like a fear of risk, uncertainty? And does he dream of doing something else other than tending to the family farm -- but is afraid to take the risk? Or...?

I think the premise has potential; a sheep shearer is an original occupation for a character so I'm expecting to see a glimpse of rural life rarely portrayed in a films.

They are obviously star-crossed lovers because of their contrasting temperaments and lifestyles. By definition, all star-crossed lovers must "struggle to stay together" -- that's a general statement that tells me nothing about what is unique about their struggle from that of all other star-crossed lovers.

So as was asked above, specifically, what is the nature of the struggle? What is the specific objective goal of the protagonist to resolve the predicament?

Is the guy or the gal the protagonist, and which one is the guy and which the gal?
What, exactly, IS the struggle? (Be specific.)
What is the protagonist's, SPECIFIC goal?
