    And whatever the goal of the protagonist is, it has to be something that can be visualized. Because movies are a visual medium. And because it concretely validates for the audience that the goal has been reached.

    A goal of reaching the top of a Mt. Everest or winning an Olympic race can be visualized. But the meaning of life?? What does the visual of that look like?
