    Carlton: I don’t what “must find a worth beyond achievements” is supposed to mean. If it means what I think it means, I’ve yet to meet a person afflicted with severe bipolar disorder who could pull him/herself up by her own psychological bootstraps without medication, therapy, or support groups.

    Suffice it to say, the character “flaw” is a wellspring of potential conflict and complications. I hope you will research the disorder thoroughly and get it right.

    Okay, but loglines are littered with "tragic accidents", replete with characters who "must learn to be strong and fight, well-stocked with "everything to lose" stakes. What is there about your story that makes it stand out from the herd?
