Unfortunately, I don’t see what the plot is, yet. ?I can envision several possibilities for a plot — but it’s your story, ?not mine. ?Until the ex shows up ?there seems to be no apparent threat to their lifestyle and swindling. ?And after she appears, it’s not clear how he MUST respond to the threat of the IRS sting operation .
Also the appearance of the ex seems like a 2nd Act, midpoint complication — not an inciting incident. ?And loglines are not about midpoint complications.
What is the inciting incident? ?The guy getting charmed or the discovery that she’s a fellow con?
