The logline presents a potentially interesting premise that needs to be fleshed out with more details. How does “work hard” translate into a specific game plan to realize his dream? What the specific brand of super hero does he wants to be? ??What super powers does he covet? ?Remember, Buddy Pine’s wanted to become a super hero in the mold of Mr. Incredible.
And is this premise to be played out as a comedy, a parody of the super hero genre — or with a straight face?

And whoever becomes the protagonist needs to be provided with a specific objective goal. ? How does “rebuild for the better” translate into a specific objective goal? And “hindered by oncoming cruelties” needs to be made more specific in terms of a particular, singular antagonist who must be defeated or a specific obstacle that must be overcome.
Consult the guidelines under “Training” at the top of the web page for the fundamentals of writing an industry standard logline.

>>>We HOPE it?s for his family, but we?re not sure he IS doing it for his family,
It’s clearly established in the pilot that his original objective goal?in leveraging his chemistry know-how was to earn enough money to provide for his family after his death. ?? And that’s what he initially uses the money for. He’s only given 6 months to live; he has no expectations of a ?long term career in crime. But as the series progresses, things change and so does Walter White.
A logline is a statement of the protagonist’s ?original objective goal, not a statement about subsequent transformations of character, goal, unintended consequences or unanticipated outcomes. ?(And there are plenty of all of the above in the series.)
