Perhaps you can use the word 'retribution' rather than 'payback'? I would also change 'put him back inside' to 'reincarcerate him'. 'Stunning plan', I would use a different word (or words) besides 'stunning', a word that relates better to what exactly her plan is.

Why is the brother meditating in the woods? how long has he been in the woods meditating? Also a descriptor for the step-kids would be nice. Are they adventurous? Shy? Does she get along with her kids?

The lawyer doesn’t unwittingly prove the guilty man innocent, she simply doesn’t know he is a bad person. ‘Now she’ll stop at nothing’, sounds too vague. Please give some examples of how she will accomplish this. What skills and resources does she have at her disposal? Does she kill someone herself to frame him? Where does she find the dead body to accuse him with? Why does she strive to frame this man? Is he abusive towards her?
