Who is the protagonist? Is the character to be most empathised with the Accountant or the Assassin?

Currently the Accountant character sounds a bit pathetic – not relatable.? ‘Stumbling’ into a deathmatch/Battle Royale without reading the signs lowers character intelligence.? Luke Skywalker may not have had the courage at the start to save the princess, but he seemed like a bright kid!

So, Accountant and Assassin become unlikely allies. Reminded me of the film Zombieland when I first read it.? Coward character [teams up with]? Tough guy.

Which leads to the question of Antagonist or oppositional force? Filling in the gaps, my guess is more Assassins, but not clearly stated …..

A mother dying suddenly has a wonderful fairytale quality to it (although genre is Thriller). In my view, Grief is not a character trait – it’s an emotion, felt by said character. An example of a character trait might be Withdrawn – which is then the outcome of grief and sadness.

Think how the logline might personify the villain? Currently the cult feels very anonymous, vague, difficult to imagine.

I guess a ghost protagonist is basically unsocial or Withdrawn,? i.e.? detached from others and retreated inside oneself. Ghost are aloof - they don't like people much, let alone helping them. Might the character arch be that of learning to "love" or recognise the value of others? Such that the persRead more

Might the character arch be that of learning to “love” or recognise the value of others? Such that the person being helped are a kind of antagonist (and victim !) – in the sense that they prevent a withdrawn character type from achieving what they want most – avoiding people.
