The logic at the base of the premise doesn't hold up. If she genuinely wants to guarantee that her daughters won't be poor, wouldn't getting them a higher education provide a greater chance of success in that sense?

So two investigative journalists doing their jobs... Not sure what about this makes for a good story. Is there a big bad someone they're fighting to get the story out, or some other form of resistance? If not, there's not enough/at all conflict here from the journalists' points of view.
