OK, does he have no skills and is delusional about it (like 'Kick Ass") Or does he *think* he has no skills, but the obscure skills he does have prove to be useful (like many martial arts films).

Again, think fatal flaw. Mark Zuckerberg may have been delusional. Gordon Gecko was delusional. Neurotic may be closer to the mark. How about "Agoraphobic" (look it up. Hitchcock used this somewhat). Even "Social-phobic". There's a Japanese term "Hikkikomori", but you may lose a Western Audience whoRead more

Super-geek. Mega-nerd. “Worlds-biggest-dork”. “40-year-old comic-book loving virgin” etc. Good character descriptors, but, think “fatal” flaw. What (in the plot) is going to get this guy unstuck.

Meh, "rampent madmen" are a dime a dozen these days. Serbian people-traffickers... are some scary shit. (I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. Serbian people-traffickers… are some scary shit. (I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don’t have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.)
