What Richiev and Nir Shelter said.

And the premise doesn’t seem credible, that the court (I presume) would force the miscreants to do something with potential material benefit for a private 3rd party with no legal stake or direct interest in the original offense. Community service, yes — for the common good — but not commercial activity to advance the private interests of a single individual.

      Hello,
I think there’s something good in this logline and it’s the irony of a punk band who must work on a christian album. This is precious, and I can imagine there could be an initial resistance to collaborate, then a higher investment when the punks understand that it could be a good album or that their punk attitude doesn’t really belong to them. The punks may also not agree betwen them, that’s more potential conflict.
Besides, as said in the previous comments, you should make it clear how the punks are forced to work for the christian album. Anyway, I think at the end the christian kid must learn something from the punks and the punks must learn something from the christian kid: everyone must put down his mask. This could work.
      Good luck.

btw, I don’t mean to imply this isn’t a good idea for a film, I’m just saying the motivation is flawed.

      For instance:
      —–
“After their drunken singer crashes into a school bus, a punk band is force into community service helping a community christian label create an album for a gifted street kid.”
      —–
In this example, they don’t want to do a christian album but the choice is that or jail.

Forcing characters to do the last thing they would want to do does make for good conflict.

Hope that helped, good luck with this!

This logline uses too many words to describe the plot in a convoluted manner and agreed with Richiev also when is this set?

If in present day the premise doesn’t work. Records are not released as they used to be rather digitally published online as such some one can boycott a record as much as they like but it will not curb the sales or propagation amongst fans one bit.

      Hope this helps.

For me the problem is, punk rock thrives on controversy, for instance ‘God Save the Queen’ angered a good portion of the British populace.

A punk band wouldn’t want to clean up their image because it would ruin their credibility. It would turn off their ‘actual’ fans.

Same with Metal. I believe it was Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue who said, The only thing that could hurt their image would be if someone captured a photo of them drinking a glass of milk.

In other words, if a punk rock band released an album boycotted by most christian organizations, they would be in heaven.
