(1600’s, Action/Comedy) After losing his parents to bandits, Spaniard Sanño and his servant Panño goes after a wild treasure hunt with the map Sanño stole from the bandits.

It does seem weird his father's murdered and then the lead goes on a treasure hunt. You need to add an element to make the audience sympathetic to the leads goal.

I don't want it to be a revenge story.. So I made his father an ex-pirate who had a treasure map. Bandits locate him years later for the map. So our hero embarks on this Treasure journey after his father's death..

A part of me just wants to dump all this back story and start the film with a dude looking for treasure with a map... but than i fear we wouldnt be invested in him in an emotional level. why he is doing this,etc...

What do you think? Should I keep all the back story of how this journey got started?
