Cheers.
Regarding bounties, I may be wrong, but if a dead or alive poster is put up then anyone who brings them in should get the bounty? I have in my mind that he will be trained up in the life by a veteran, so should get work.

>>>The hero has been sheltered by his father from this brutal world, so killing isn't in his nature

I think the concept has potential for compelling character arc. But... if he's a sheltered and retiring nice guy, why would anyone hire him to be a bounty hunter? Before he can take the job, doesn't somebody have to be willing to offer it to him?

Thanks for the input.

I envisage this to be a wild west type of world, but set in Australia, because of it's vastness. With out giving to much away, the story is set twenty or so years after a number of events led to the creation of this world. Comunities have been established, and famine is widespread. Transporting supplies, and in this case, cattle, is big business (but comes with risk). I never specified what the bonus would be, could be traded goods, paying off debts etc. Even in the future, business is business.
The war criminals that they are tracking will be those responsiable for the canabalisms, rapes and many other crimes which were carried out during the past twenty years.
As a ticking clock, I've made it that in order for them to move on, Justice must be applied for and then served before a set time (as it becomes invalid).
The hero has been sheltered by his father from this brutal world, so killing isn't in his nature. To him, cattle droving is a means to an end.
Regarding the antagonist, I'm not sure weather i'll put him in the logline, but i'll defenantly build a better one.

Very valid points from both dpg and Nir -- maybe a better focus/ motivation is redemption rather than financial gain (even though the financial gain equates to survival...)...

"In a post apocalyptic Australia, a law abiding farmer joins an aging bounty hunter to find and kill the war criminals that killed his family and destroyed his farm."

Best of luck with it.

When you pin losing the bonus up against fighting killers in a post apocalypse world the two don't match each other.

What I mean is if he is going out to kill people why would he care about making a little bit more money from a bonus? As previously mentioned the world has ended as we know it and civilization has broken down. Salaries and bonuses are now meaningless it's resources alone which will determine life and death. If the main action of the MC will be determining who lives and dies the event that sets him off on that action needs to be compelling enough to do so in a world that life and death are so easily exchanged.

That's probably why in Mad Max the MC's family are killed to set him off on killing the gang that did it.

The MC description also seams cumbersome "cattle drover" better one word farmer. More so in stories such as this best to specify a single antagonist rather than a generic war criminals. This way the obligatory end scene when he defeats the bad guy or gal is alluded to and the main action the MC will take for most of the film is clearer.

Hope this helps.
