Would be more interesting if being a clone is more than a curious circumstance; that is, it has consequences complications (health, sanity) that he has to deal with... or else.

It is very hard to read on a first take..

Remember to strip it down to the essentials then build from there:

After discovering he is a clone of a dead scientist, a (insert weakness)** (insert occupation)** journeys to find out why he was created while keeping the secret hidden from view...?

Is the weakness being nihilistic ??

What is he risking to get the information ??
How far is he willing to go to make it happen ??
What obstacles are standing in his way ??
What is the urgency facing our protagonist ??

Create a logline with as much uniqueness that helps the reader easily identify the premise // concept..
