    The only thing I would add to jacksparrow?s answer is to make the dream more concrete. You have to let people know her murder is 100% without his action.

    I like version B. If you knew you are dying fear is an obvious outcome. Add in an emotion if you can use it to subvert the audience expectations. For example ?turned on by death ..?

    Does he try? What happens when he fails? Who is pushing him and why? The ice climbing is just a setting for a story. ?Dances with Wolves? and ?Avatar? are the same story told in different settings.
