When an extremely devoted woman learns of her husband's infidelity from a neighbor, she becomes devastated and determines to make confirmations, terminate the marriage and take from him what he cherishes most – their kids.

Okay, "woman divorces her husband" doesn't seem like a big enough issue to pin a whole movie around to me - but would I be correct in guessing that TX comes from a country or culture where it *is* a big deal for a woman to initiate divorce and take the kids? If so, TX, you have two options. SettingRead more

If so, TX, you have two options. Setting this story in a culture or country where divorce is less easy or common, and where there’s an assumption the man gets the best deal out of it even if he was in the wrong, will give your story strong stakes immediately.

Or: if this is going to happen in US/Europe/ other culture where divorce is less of a big deal, you need to raise the stakes dramatically. She starts the divorce and takes the kids, BUT her husband kidnaps the kids/tries to kill her/frames her and her sent to jail… Something.

When a devoted woman suspects infidelity in her husband, her investigations leads her to discover unforgiving facts about him which may force her to take an irrational decision with daring consequences.

Okay, this is a bit vague, isn't it? It's only to flicking back to the earlier version that I have any idea what this is about (taking the kids). (That's assuming it still is, of course.) It’s surprisingly easy to craft a beautiful log line, then look at it and realise you haven’t actually told people anything of value. in the end, what you want from a logline is genre, central character’s dilemma, what’s at stake, and some suggestion of what action the movie actually dramatises (e.g., if it’s a heist movie, is it mostly about planning the heist, mostly about performing the heist, or mostly about getting away with the money?)

If you try getting those elements into this logline, I think you’ll find it starts to take a stronger shape…

China uses sunlight to stay in totalitarian power, but when a naive scientist discovers how to usurp their control, she's targeted by every national power there is.

I like it. I'm assuming it's an 'Enemy Of The State' -style chase thriller? If we're going to be picky, you could try something simpler than "stay in totalitarian power" - "dominate the world", or similar?
