Secrets and prejudices erupt over a family dinner when the eldest son returns from an interdimensional war with a strange new friend. (short film)

Hi Roger,
Well done. Sounds like this could be a lot of fun! Are you making?this film?
For short films, the rules are somewhat more lenient. They don’t always have 3 acts.
Also, on this site we prefer ‘development loglines’. They reveal as much as possible. When you’re sending a logline to a film festival, it may be shorter, and ‘tease’ rather than ‘reveal’.
Who is the main character? Is it the son?
I’m asking because it depends on the MC what the inciting incident is.
If the son is the main character, I would imagine he has to justify, or even defend the friend (an alien, I take it?) over dinner.
Because the reader will guess that the friend is an alien, why not mention it? It may save you a few words.
In summary, I would like to get a better feel for what sort of conflict to expect.
Have fun loglining!
Cheers,
Karel

Hi Rafael, Sounds great! The inciting incident is when she finds the diary at the doorstep, right? Perhaps rewrite the logline using the formula recommended here: How to write a logline. I think you have the goods for an engaging story.?Now refine the logline! I hope this helps. Cheers, Karel
