Also, is the hunter aware of the beast before heading out on the expedition or is he unaware of the danger ahead?

Seeing as he is the main character, I suggest he is made aware of the beast, the choice to go after it will be harder to make. I would go as far as to say that he has known of the beast for years prior to the incident and has been waiting for an opportunity to go after it. The logline should focus on the hunter’s perspective and motivation and less on the miners.

Who is the main character? And Argonauts seems out of place, what other description can you use? Miners? Prospectors? Why is it so important to him or her to find the group? Is the story about them finding the missing people or about them escaping/sruviving the beast?

When a grandson running from a media scandal ends up joining a commune, he is encouraged to visit his hometown and claim what’s his, to his surprise, an inheritance left by his adopted grandparents. But when he finds himself fighting off TV reporters who follow him to his new commune, he realizes that by publicly accepting a family secret, he can thwart them off indefinitely and claim leadership of a new commune he builds with his windfall.
