I like the odd couple angle – I think you should push down on that.

In order to find a killer, a techno-phobe detective partners with a pleasure-android, who claims the prime suspect, a woman he is slowly falling for, is innocent.

    – I added some stuff here. “Techno-phobe detective” to heighten the conflict between this odd couple. “A woman he is slowly falling for” – I dunno. Might be a hook.

    How about…

When his wife is murdered by an android, a detective must team with a pleasure-android, who claims the prime suspect, a human woman he is slowly falling for, is innocent.

    – Made it more personal/primal by making it his wife. Detective now has quite an interesting arc. Might be a bit convoluted on first read I’m not sure.

    Anyways. Good luck with this.

    Okay. Let’s see…
Intention: she must get rid of the other characters to gain the player’s affections (how is this difficult? what do you mean get rid of? Like kill them? One big thing – why does she have to get rid of the other players to win his affections?)
Obstacle: rewriting the game script. (is this difficult? what happens if she does?)

There’s some conflict here. A dilemma. Someone else is right – that it needs to be a bit more specific what’s going on.

When a video game character falls in love with the real-life player, she rewrites the game in order to spend time with him, inadvertently erasing her video game friends.

This one isn’t great but is it closer to what you mean? If so – hopefully it’s innate that she must fix things or choose one. Dilemma’s are really great for logline’s btw so I’d probably make sure that’s always clear.

    Anyways – good luck!

    Hi Steeldownunder. This sounds interesting.

    Hmm….

Intention: must obtain evidence boss is a monster (this should be specific. What did he do?)
Obstacle: her boss will silence her.

Also – we don’t need “intimidating” and “murderous”. I think all we need to know is that he’s a monster really.

When she witnesses her boss murder someone, a whistle-blower must obtain evidence before he takes sadistic steps to silence her for good.

    How about…

When she witnesses her boss murder someone, a whistle-blower must obtain evidence before he uses his power to silence her for good.

This one – I’m just experimenting. Playing with the idea.

When she witnesses her boss murder someone, a woman must obtain evidence before he uses his clout to ruin her and her family.

(I’m not sure we need whistle-blower because that’s pretty much what she’s doing. I pushed down on the stakes and made it more primal/personal by involving her family. I got rid of “powerful” too because we later learn he has clout anyways.)

Again – sounds cool. I really enjoyed THE INSIDER if you know that one.

    Good luck!
