It needs shortening. I suggest:

In a "Groundhog Day" meets 'Jaws' scenario a formerly optimistic screenwriter is doomed.

New title: Chewed It Up and Spitted It Out, Again... and Again... and Again...

That would be CUSOAaAaA!

I suggest you seek Geno, the Shark-Eating Man guy. If nothing else his fingernails on the chalkboard routine will snap you out of your stupor.

It's a tad long, could use some trimming. And who's the antagonist? Where's the hook? Sorry, this logline is very wanting. :)
