I agree that you should focus your "documentary" on the "disover the truth" part as your main goal, because your first version suggests "betraying Boris" which doesn't make sense for me, as the "truth" about Boris Nemzow's murder was never brought to light. I watched some documentaries about Nemzow and also read books about Russian politics and himself, and there are many theories out there as to whom is behind his murder. So, again, focus on the finding the truth part is my suggestion.
