    I like it, but can't see how the suspension links to his story. Can you supply some connective tissue. Otherwise here's my version. A small town desk cop become a local hero when every other cop calls in with the flu. Is there a big event that coincides?

    Good setup. But who does what and why? Eg I think the story hinges on why enter the gladiator comp and what does winning bring. A newborn prince left to die in the mountains by his aging and tormented father the King, at 18 returns as a gladiator to win the Royal Games and his right to the throne. TRead more

    A newborn prince left to die in the mountains by his aging and tormented father the King, at 18 returns as a gladiator to win the Royal Games and his right to the throne.

    This is probably not your story. But this version has some action and motive.
