Not sure there is enough dramatic fuel in the tank. Just find better adjectives and trim some stuff. ?If you drop the nationality it gives it more pace, plus it doesn't change the story. ? Plus is there more for him to do. ?Is there two hours of story evacuating people. ?What is getting in his way?Read more

This is probably not the story but a take on it from what I can see.

“Inheriting the family farm a young man must decide to go home and run it and provide for his mum or sell it and chance his big city law career”. ?Even this lacks dramatic options.

“Going home to sell the farm he inherited a young man torn between staying and running the family ensure his mum’s future or selling it and using the money to chase his dreams in the big city”.

Give your MC some action. ?Tell us about what he will be doing what his dreams and wants are.

Good luck. ?Post future versions in the comments below. ?I’d like to read them.

I can see that this can have plenty of dramatic opportunities, but I don't know which one you are going to use. 1) Does her death or attempted suicide make him appreciate his life 2) Does helping her trigger something in him and he leaves his family to be with her, saving himself and her. 2a) Does hRead more

I can see that this can have plenty of dramatic opportunities, but I don’t know which one you are going to use.

    1) Does her death or attempted suicide make him appreciate his life
    2) Does helping her trigger something in him and he leaves his family to be with her, saving himself and her.
2a) Does he start an affair which makes him realise that he has it good at home.
    3) Does he look at her problems and see that he is the problem and not his family.

What is the story in what you have set up as a good universe.
