Based on real events, in 1984, when a black, gay political activist is arrested, facing painful rejection from within his own party, the death penalty and HIV; he lobbies the ANC to include a clause to the new Constitution, making it the first and only African nation to ban discrimination based on same-sex sexual orientation.
Hm, interesting. I was wondering because I've seen you mention your collection before, and I've never been able to find a place that has actual logline vs blurbs. Hm, interesting. I was wondering because I’ve seen you mention your collection before, and I’ve never been able to find a place that has actual logline vs blurbs. However, I think found the actual logline used to sell the Hannibal TV series when I searched it for some guidance on a logline, which does indeed use the name Hannibal Lecter to sell it.
See lessI guess you’re right that I did include the inciting incident in the first version. But you do bring up another point that the formula is also usually suggested(“Switch the order so the inciting incident as at the beginning”). Anyway, as a last statement I do recommend the Hannibal series.
After his wife gives birth to a stillborn, a wizard has three days to enlist the help of the state?s only necromancer to resurrect his daughter and break a generational curse that will kill all the female children born into the family.
Nice rework by OrinaryDreams. Wizards and necromancers are different, which is why they have different names. The case is probably that while the wizard can perform some necromancy, he doesn't have the skill or power to the effect of a full-fledged necromancer. I do agree that if the lead is anotherRead more

The case is probably that while the wizard can perform some necromancy, he doesn’t have the skill or power to the effect of a full-fledged necromancer. I do agree that if the lead is another straight, white male then I urge you to consider making it more diverse, which is sorely lacking in fantasy stories.
As for who’s the protagonist, it seems obvious it’s the character who has the stakes, I assume that enlisting the necromancer’s help is possibly an obstacle in itself, maybe a clash of personalities or something.
I can cut some more words:?After his daughter is stillborn, a wizard has three days to enlist a necromancer to resurrect her and break the family curse killing female children.?
If the idea is that the necromancer is reluctant for some reason then you could add retired to describe him/her, or something to indicate that the necromancer is reluctant.

I agree with DPG that a beginner has a check box that needs to be filled in order to be successful. Which ?is why a good strategy to employ is probably to write a script for something that is familiar, that checks those boxes, and then once established branch out, break the mold. Take the MCU. See lessTake the MCU. The first film ,Iron Man(2008) was a fairly by the numbers superhero origin story. Because even though it’s hard to believe now, but that film was a risk for Marvel. But Iron Man’s plot is radically different from Captain America: Civil War, which breaks the MCU mold in multiple ways.
